The most respected “Diet Guru” today – Reaching a huge number of devoted fans through his popular TV show. He emphasizes total health by focusing on natural foods and diet products that improve health rather than damaging the body. Like millions of Americans, we follow him faithfully and all of the products we carry have been recommended by Dr Oz on his show. More about Dr Oz below…
A visionary well-known for his forward thinking, open-minded medical opinions, Dr. Oz didn’t always focus his energy on the natural health that he does today. In fact, as a child he dreamed of becoming a pro athlete or heart surgeon. He obviously didn’t quite make it to the star athlete he wanted to be, but succeeded on becoming a heart surgeon. With degrees from Wharton, the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard, he now not only is the host of his own wildly-popular TV show, but has many other impressive statuses.
Not just a “TV Doctor”, a very respected Heart Surgeon
Dr. Oz is director & founder of New York Presbyterian Medical Center’s Complementary Medicine program. He’s vice chairman surgery, as well as a professor for cardiac surgery programs at Columbia University. He has authored well over 300 publications, one of which includes his book Healing From the Heart and not many people know that he actually has several patents, too.
Dr. Mehmet Oz performs hundreds of heart surgeries each year. A few of the notable accolades he’s received include:
- Being named as one of the “100 Most Influential People” in Time Magazine
- Being named as one of the “75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century” by Esquire
- Being named a “Global Leader of Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum (1999-2004)
What is the BEST diet product according to Dr Oz?
Sorry, there is no ONE single answer to this. Dr Oz has recommended many different healthy, natural diet products that can all be very effective. But they all target different mechanisms in the body so they help people lose weight differently. What works great for one person might not be as effective for another.
Below is a quick reference of HOW some of these products work and what Dr Oz has to say about them:
“Miracle in your medicine cabinet that will help you lose 10 lbs”
(Quote source: First for Women magazine, January 2, 2012)
African Mango, otherwise known as Irvingia gabonesis provides a potent source of fiber for your body. It squelches away fat and cholesterol and Dr. Oz calls it a breakthrough fix for women over 40. However, people from all walks of life have seen great results using African Mango. On his site he recommends taking 150mg before meals two times per day.
“Number 1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat”

Raspberry ketone breaks up fat found in your cells, therefore burning away fat. The adiponectin hormone found in raspberry ketones also boosts your metabolism. To get the same results from eating actual raspberries you’d have to eat about 90 lbs. of raspberries, so supplements are the way to go. Dr. Oz recommends 100mg of raspberry ketone with your breakfast. Results can start to be seen in merely five days. However, greater results and more substantial weight loss will happen if you take it for longer periods of time.
Green Coffee Bean Extract
“Magic weight loss pill for EVERY body type”
(Source, Dr. Oz site and show http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/miracle-pill-burn-fat-pt-1)
Green coffee beans are getting some major attention after the release of data from the most recent study. The secret to any green coffee bean extract is the chlorogenic acid found within the bean itself, which regular coffee beans lose through the roasting process. This compound burns away current fat and works to prevent new fat from forming. You don’t have to exercise and you don’t have to diet. It just melts away fat – and fast. That may seem like the most magical part, but experts are astonished by the fact there doesn’t seem to be a single side effect from taking green coffee bean extract either.
The “Beauty Berry” makes you feel good inside and out… “Boasts a range of unique plant chemical compounds found in no other fruit on the planet”
(Source Dr. Oz site http://www.doctoroz.com/blog/lindsey-duncan-nd-cn/so-whats-so-good-about-acai-whole-lot)
Sadly, the acai berry got somewhat of a bad reputation over recent years due to the scam artists out there selling low-quality supplements and tricking people into expensive purchases. Let’s set the record straight… acai berries are powerful and very good for you. You just have to make sure you are buying the real thing. Including acai berries in your diet can improve the look and feel of your hair, nails and skin and it has more protein than even eggs. It boosts metabolism and your immune system, too.
“Imagine losing a pound a day, but NEVER feeling hungry”
Dr. Oz is excited about the potential for the HCG diet, but says he is unsure about the safety. He does say it could give millions of people an option to finally lose weight. The HCG diet is a very calorie-restricted diet, but the HCG actually helps your body burn away stores of fat by using the nutrients your body has naturally built up over time. Because your body is receiving this boost you don’t feel hungry. This is the only diet out there you could lose a whopping 30 pounds in 30 days.
The Superfruit Diet – Dr Oz favorite weight loss ingredients
- Sea Buckthorn – Blocks fat from being absorbed
- African Mango – Increase Leptin sensitivity to stop hunger
- Acai Berry – Speeds metabolism and fat burning
- Raspberry Ketone – Burns Fat
Everyone’s metabolism and dietary needs are different, but most people suffer from a combination of challenges in their weight loss battles and can benefit from all three weapons.
Thousands of people are seeing great results with this product introduced by New Life Botanicals in 2011 called SDF-3. It combines these 4 superfruits recommended by Dr Oz, along with some proprietary diet ingredients in one capsule.

About Dr Oz
The Early Years
In 1955, Oz’s father Mustafa came to the United States from Turkey thanks to a resident position he earned at a Cleveland hospital. Cleveland would soon be where Dr. Oz is born, but at the age of three they moved to Delaware. He attended Tower Hill high school, followed by going to college at Harvard.
Amusingly, he was known as “Judy” in college. His football coach said “You made Judy Garland famous, so we’re going to call you Judy from now on”.
It wasn’t until he went to medical school at Penn that he met his wife Lisa. Believe it or not, Oz the natural health fanatic didn’t have any idea what a vegetarian was. He cooked a chicken dinner for Lisa one night. She very much appreciated the thought, but had to politely him know that she was a vegetarian. So what did Oz do? He took her to his favorite restaurant and asked her what kind of cheese steak she wanted… he didn’t realize that when she told him he was a vegetarian that it meant she didn’t eat meat. Lisa was actually very influential on the way he began to think about health.
Today Dr. Oz has become a super-celebrity, especially among stay-at-home-moms who tune into his show. Though many of his devote followers are looking for safe natural weight loss and diet advice, he never set out to become the “weight loss guru”. In fact, it was kind of his wife’s idea in the beginning…
At one point, he used to tell his wife about how his patients could have prevented needing surgery. Her solution? Start a TV show called Second Opinion. This is how he first met Oprah. Needing a big celebrity to kick off the show, he was able to get Oprah and it turns out they got along great. Not long after that Oprah’s producers called to see if he’d do a segment on her show.
Oprah says the impact he had on her audience was enormous and that he took medical mumbo-jumbo and put it into terms anyone could understand. His sensitive nature made it easy for viewers to trust him and there have been some pretty embarrassing health issues brought up on the show. But Dr. Oz handles it like a pro and his viewers love him for it.
He became a medical sensation seemingly overnight and his TV show has gained in popularity ever since then. Today his show focuses on a variety of health topics and pretty much any kind of product that he features on the show starts to sell like hot cakes.
